Open enrollment for Medicare begins Oct. 15 and ends Dec. 7.
It is during this period that those covered by Medicare — people 65 and older — can change their health plan and prescription drug coverage for 2020. For many people, the Medicare open–enrollment process can be confusing with its alphabet plans.
Now is the time to consider changing your insurance from a Medicare Advantage Plan to Traditional Medicare with a supplemental insurance that will pick up the 20% that medicare does not cover. Along with this change you may also need to pick a Part D plan for prescription coverage if you do not have one.
New Jersey Cancer Care, PA billing team can assist you during this process with any questions you may have. We have included a few insurance companies that many of our patients currently have.

When you receive emergency care or are treated by an out-of-network provider at an in-network hospital or ambulatory surgical center, you are protected from surprise billing or balance billing. In addition, healthcare providers now need to provide patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical services. Additional information about the Surprise Act and requesting a Good Faith Estimate can be downloaded below.
